![]() I have a D-Link DIR-859 Router that is connected to the wall outlet. Same connection just like my Desktop PC (which is constantly running over 950 Mbps download and it also has a Gigabit Switch to bypass as well) used in the living room. *****)Ĭonnection on my Laptop is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! it still functions great! HD has not died. What other options do I have? ( ***** changing a laptop is out of the question although it is coming on 8 years old. but NONE work "properly" to at least give me double-digit speeds. I've tried downloading different drivers. I can see where you are coming with about the 100Mbps on the driver. it's clocking slower than a Turtle at about 3-5 Mbps download. The Laptop is connected via CAT6A to the DIR-859 Router. That PC is connected via CAT5e to the Asus Gigabit Switch which is connected to the DIR-859 Router. Why? In the same room (living room), I have a Desktop PC that is used for streaming, etc. I can say 100% it is not an issue with Rogers. I've tried unplugging and replugging the CAT6A. I will try unplugging and replugging the cable and see if it goes to 1Gbps, sometimes my ethernet craps out and stayed at 100Mbps for some reasonīut even at 100Mbps ethernet connection your download speed shouldn't be as low as 3Mbps, sth's wrong with your connection i think. Your second screenshot says it all, your ethernet connection is only at 100Mbps, not 1GbpsĪnd your driver setting thing should have left it at default IMHO
